Defined vs Undefined CoS
Which Type of CoS Do You Need?
A Defined CoS is for workers applying from outside the UK it must be requested from the Home Office and allocated in advance. An Undefined CoS is for workers already in the UK switching routes. Getting the type wrong invalidates the application. We confirm the correct type on every assignment before anything is submitted.
A CoS is an electronic record not a physical document that gives a unique reference number a worker uses in their visa application. It confirms the role, salary, sponsor and start date.
We typically complete CoS assignments within 24 48 hours of receiving the required worker information. Urgent same-day assignments are available.
A CoS that contains errors wrong SOC code, incorrect salary, wrong type can result in visa refusal. A used CoS cannot be cancelled and reissued with corrections. Prevention is essential.
